US, Israel plan fresh strikes on Iran after midterm elections, report claims

Houthis Launch Fresh Attacks On Saudi Arabia As Iran Rejects Us Talks Until Conditions Are Met

WASHINGTON – The United States and Israel have reportedly drawn up plans for renewed attacks on Iran following the US midterm elections, with their militaries intensifying preparations for potential strikes, a report published by an American newspaper claimed on Thursday.

Citing a US official, the report said potential targets could include Iran’s energy infrastructure, nuclear facilities, and stockpiles of missiles and drones.

The official reportedly said a short but intense military campaign could push Iran’s economy to the brink of collapse and pressure Tehran into making concessions through diplomatic negotiations.

According to the report, US and Israeli forces have stepped up exercises in preparation for possible military action. American and Israeli aircraft have reportedly been conducting strike drills in Iraqi airspace.

The report also said US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth discussed potential attacks on Iran with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a visit to Israel earlier this week.

The reported preparations come amid continued tensions between Iran, Israel and the United States, raising concerns about the possibility of renewed military confrontation in the region.

Meanwhile, a separate report by a British newspaper claimed that Netanyahu had planned large-scale attacks against Iran earlier this month.

The reported plans suggest that the military options remain under consideration as Washington and Tel Aviv assess their approach towards Tehran.

However, the reports do not establish that a final decision to launch fresh attacks has been made.

Any strikes targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure or nuclear facilities could have wider regional implications, potentially escalating tensions across the Middle East and affecting international energy markets.

The reports have not provided a confirmed timeline for any potential military operation beyond linking the reported plans to the period following the US midterm elections.
