RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Army’s major Wajahat Waheed was martyred in an improvised explosive device blast during a clearance operation in the general area of Shadi Kaur, Pasni in Gwadar.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said intelligence agencies reported the presence of multiple hideouts of Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Hindustan in the general areas of Shadi Kaur, Tehsil Pasni, District Gwadar, and Jattakabad, District Kalat, posing a threat to the local population. To safeguard the local populace and clear the area of terrorists, Security Forces are conducting operations in these areas.
In the first incident, on 18 October 2026, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Jattakabad, District Kalat. During the operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and, after an intense exchange of fire, four terrorists were eliminated. A large cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered.
ISPR said sanitisation operations will continue to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.
The relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace. Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain committed to eliminating the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
