Islamabads Margalla Hospital Set To Reopen With Free Healthcare

ISLAMABAD – 167-bed Margalla Hospital is set to be inaugurated, bringing long-inactive medical facility back into service and opening the door to free diagnostic, medical and surgical treatment for residents of Islamabad and surrounding areas.

The hospital, which remained non-functional for several years, is being revived through a philanthropic partnership with the Indus Hospital and Health Network. Its reopening is expected to expand access to essential healthcare and help ease the growing burden on major hospitals across the capital.

Federal Minister for National Health Services Mustafa Kamal recently chaired a meeting to review arrangements for the inauguration. The health ministry’s joint secretary and other officials attended the meeting, where preparations for the facility’s launch were discussed.

Kamal said the project would improve access to quality medical care for a large segment of the population while reducing pressure on Islamabad’s existing hospitals.

He also described the partnership as a model of public service, transparency and effective utilisation of national resources, stressing the importance of practical initiatives to improve healthcare facilities for the public.

With 167 beds and a commitment to providing treatment free of charge, Margalla Hospital is poised to become an important addition to the capital’s healthcare infrastructure. Its revival is expected to offer relief to patients seeking affordable medical services, while the partnership aims to ensure that the facility serves the public through accessible healthcare.
