PESHAWAR – Thousands of PMS aspirants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are waiting for next update after KPPSC postponed the written examination originally scheduled for October 14–31, 2026.
In major development for candidates preparing for the Provincial Management Service (PMS) examination, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) postponed the entire written examination for PMS Officer (BPS-17) posts, just two days before the examination was scheduled to begin.

The written examination was originally scheduled to run from October 14 to October 31, 2026. However, the commission has now postponed the complete examination schedule, leaving candidates waiting for an announcement of the revised dates.
According to an official notification issued by the Director Examinations on October 12, the postponed examination will be rescheduled at a later date. The commission has not yet announced a new timetable or disclosed the reason behind its decision.
The postponement has prompted candidates to seek clarity regarding the next examination schedule. However, October 31, 2026, is not a newly announced examination date. It was the final day of the original timetable, which covered multiple papers spread across several days.
KPPSC has advised candidates to regularly visit its official website for updates and further instructions. Until a revised schedule is formally announced, aspirants should avoid relying on unverified claims circulating on social media.
The recruitment process was initiated under Advertisement No. 01/2026, which announced 35 vacancies for PMS Officer positions in BPS-17.
The selection process includes a screening test, a written examination for successful candidates, and interviews at a later stage. Candidates who qualified in the screening test had already been able to access their written examination e-letters through the KPPSC website.
Under the original 18th Schedule, compulsory papers were due to begin on October 14, while optional papers were scheduled to continue until October 31. The latest decision means that the entire written examination timetable has been postponed rather than a single paper being shifted to another date.
Candidates are advised to continue their preparation and regularly check the official KPPSC website, particularly its homepage announcements, examination schedule and e-Letters section.
They should also verify any information about the revised dates through official commission notifications before making travel arrangements or other examination-related plans.
As of October 12, 2026, KPPSC has confirmed the postponement of the PMS Officer (BPS-17) written examination originally scheduled for October 14–31. No replacement date has been announced, and the official notification does not specify the reason for the delay.
