ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s petrol price is now just a step away from the Rs400-per-litre barrier, as another increase has sent the fuel rate soaring to Rs398.96 per litre.
Under latest revision, petrol becomes Rs2.31 more expensive, jumping from Rs396.65 to Rs398.96 per litre. High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has also witnessed an increase of 78 paisas, taking its price from Rs394.94 to Rs395.72 per litre.

The latest move has brought petrol within just Rs1.04 of the Rs400 mark, raising fresh concerns for motorists already facing higher commuting and transportation expenses.
On October 7, petrol had already climbed by Rs1.82 per litre, reaching Rs396.65. HSD, meanwhile, had been reduced by 91 paisas to Rs394.94. The back-to-back adjustments have rapidly pushed petrol closer to the psychologically significant Rs400 level.
