Islamabad Roads Update Today Ahead Of Possible Protest 23 September 2026

ISLAMABAD – Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a traffic advisory, announcing diversions at different times on Srinagar Highway, Faisal Avenue and other major roads due to the movement of foreign delegations in the federal capital.

The traffic diversions would be placed at different points between the Red Zone and Koral. Citizens were advised to use alternative routes and allow an extra 20 to 25 minutes for their journeys to avoid inconvenience.

Srinagar Highway: Traffic diversions will be placed at different locations between the Red Zone and Koral. Motorists using Srinagar Highway can take Suhrawardy Road, G-8 Service Road and Ninth Avenue as alternative routes.

Zero Point to Koral: Motorists travelling from Zero Point towards Koral can use Ninth Avenue.

Koral to Islamabad: Motorists coming from Koral towards Islamabad can use Old Airport Road, Rawal Road, Rawalpindi Murree Road, I.J. Principal Road and Faqir Aipee Road.

Koral Expressway, Murree Road and Club Road: In case these roads are closed, motorists can use Lehtrar Road and Park Road as alternative routes.

Travelling Out of Islamabad: Motorists leaving Islamabad can use Jinnah Avenue and Margalla Road.

Bhara Kahu to Islamabad: Motorists coming from Bhara Kahu towards Islamabad can use Bani Gala and Park Road.

The official said traffic pressure was likely to increase on major roads during the movement of foreign delegations.

Citizens were advised to leave 20 to 25 minutes earlier than usual and use the suggested alternative routes to avoid delays.
