Bahrain Fm Al Zayani Arrives In Islamabad For Jmc Talks

Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday for a two-day visit, during which he will co-chair the third session of the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC), the Foreign Office said.

He was received at the airport by Economic Affairs Division Secretary Muhammad Humair Karim and Additional Secretary for Middle East Zahid Hussain.

Al Zayani is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The two sides will review bilateral relations and discuss ways to expand cooperation in trade, investment, economic affairs, defence and security, labour, manpower and culture.

They will also exchange views on regional and international developments and cooperation at multilateral forums.

Dar and Al Zayani last met in September on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, where they discussed bilateral ties and preparations for the JMC session.

The previous JMC meeting was held in Manama in July 2021, when Pakistan and Bahrain signed an MoU to promote business ties.
