Papers scheduled for Oct 7-10 deferred amid prevailings ituation in province
KOHAT, October 6, 2026 : Six of the eight educational boards in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have postponed the first four papers of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual-II Examination 2026, scheduled for October 7 to 10, amid the prevailing situation in the province following the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march.
The examination was originally scheduled to commence simultaneously across the province on October 7, according to the previously issued date sheet.
The Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) of Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Malakand and Abbottabad announced the postponement of the papers scheduled during the four-day period.
According to the revised schedule issued by the BISE Kohat, the paper scheduled for October 7 will now be held on October 28, the October 8 paper on October 29, the October 9 paper on October 30, and the October 10 paper on October 31.
The Kohat Board said all other papers of the examination would be conducted according to the previously announced schedule.
Meanwhile, the Peshawar, Mardan, Malakand, Swat and Abbottabad boards have also postponed the SSC Annual-II and Oriental Languages examination papers scheduled for October 7, 8, 9 and 10.
The respective boards said new dates for the postponed papers would be announced later.
The Peshawar Board clarified that all papers scheduled after October 10 would be held according to the previously issued date sheet.
The education boards have advised candidates to stay in contact with their respective boards and follow official announcements for the latest updates regarding the revised examination schedule.
The postponement comes as the PTI’s long march, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and other party leaders, is making its way from southern districts towards Peshawar.
The march started on Sunday from Gandi’s Chowk on the Main Indus Highway in Lakki Marwat and proceeded to Karak, where participants spent the night at Jail Chowk. On Monday, the convoy reached Lachi in Kohat district, where the participants stayed overnight.
According to the announced schedule, the long march is expected to proceed towards Peshawar on Tuesday afternoon under the leadership of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
A number of lawmakers and provincial ministers from Kohat, Karak, Bannu and Hangu have also joined the march along with their supporters. They include MNAs Shahid Khattak of Karak, Naseem Ali Shah of Bannu, Shehryar Afridi of Kohat and Yousaf Khan of Hangu, besides provincial ministers and MPAs from the two districts Kohat and Karak.
