Mangla Dam water level rises to 1242 feet; Tarbela at maximum level

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Tuesday warned of increasing water levels in River Sutlej at Ganda Singh Wala to cause serious flood like situation. The Authority’s Spokesperson Brig Mukhtar Ahmed informed that water flow in River Sutlej was increasing where the water level presently at Ganda Singh Wala was 17.8 feet and 37640 cusecs flow.
He added that Flood Forecasting Division Lahore had predicted that 1,00,000 cusecs to 150,000 cusecs flood relay would pass by the evening or tomorrow noon from Ganda Singh Wala.
Mirpur: The country’s second largest reservoir – the Mangla Dam reached its maximum conservation level as it attained the level of 1214.50 feet above mean sea level on Tuesday, official sources said.
Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1392 feet, present level 1550.00 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage today 6.049 million acre feet (MAF). Mangla: Minimum operating level 1050 feet, present level 1214.50 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage today 5.297 MAF.
Haripur: Tarbela Dam reservoir Tuesday reached at its maximum storage capacity of 1550 feet and the power production of the dam also reached at its installed capacity of 4888 Megawatts. According to the Tarbela Dam officials, the reservoir is full to its capacity while today the water level of the dam was recorded 1550 feet.
