Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has said the enemies have received “painful blows” from Iranian forces and guardian of the Strait of Hormuz, claiming they are now unwilling to move beyond the Arabian Sea.
In a message, Khamenei said Iran’s opponents would soon be forced to leave the Arabian Sea as well.
Meanwhile, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, deputy chief of the Iranian Army for Coordination, said the entire Iranian population was prepared to serve as soldiers in defence of the country, according to IRNA.
Speaking to the state news agency, Sayyari said Iran’s military preparedness and the readiness of its people conveyed a clear warning to its adversaries. His remarks came in response to US President Donald Trump’s renewed threats against Iran during his address to the United Nations General Assembly, where he warned of further military action against the country.
Sayyari also referred to remarks by the late Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, former chief of staff of Iran’s armed forces, who had described Iran as a “chokehold” capable of seizing an adversary by the throat and tightening its grip.
