NEW YORK – American pop superstar Taylor Swift made history at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, becoming the most-awarded artist in the ceremony’s history.
Taylor Swift entered the event tied with Beyoncé at 30 VMA wins. She moved ahead after receiving the inaugural Artist Director Award, giving her the record for the most MTV VMA victories by any artist.
The new record further cements Swift’s status as one of the most successful artists in MTV Video Music Awards history, with her latest wins adding to a long list of achievements at the annual ceremony.
The singer later added two more trophies to her collection, winning Video of the Year and Best Direction for her song The Fate of Ophelia. The victories took her career total to 33 MTV VMA awards.
Swift also used the ceremony to unveil the music video for her new song Patient Zero. She directed the video herself, with actors Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson appearing in production.
