Gold prices in Pakistan declined sharply on Thursday, extending the weakness seen in the domestic bullion market over the past several sessions as international gold prices also moved lower.
The price of 24-karat gold fell Rs5,600 per tola to Rs448,336, while price of 10 grams dropped by Rs4,801 to Rs384,375. The latest decline followed a Rs1,800 per tola fall on Wednesday, when gold closed at Rs453,936. On the same day, 10 grams of gold was priced at Rs389,176.

The domestic decline came as international gold prices also retreated. According to the latest market data, the international price of gold fell $56 to $4,258 per ounce on Thursday.

Gold Price Trends
Gold prices have moved through a wide range during September, with the market recording a strong rally during the first few days before giving up much of those gains.
The month began with gold at Rs444,727 per tola on September 1. The rate rose to Rs450,056 the following day before gaining another Rs9,484 on September 3 to reach Rs459,540, the highest level listed for the month.
Prices subsequently weakened, falling to Rs443,647 on September 16, the lowest point in the provided September series. Gold then recovered during the following days, reaching Rs451,550 on September 19 before losing ground again.
By September 23, the rate had fallen to Rs446,408, followed by Thursday’s Rs5,600 decline to Rs448,336.

The figures show a Rs15,893 spread between September’s high of Rs459,540 and low of Rs443,647. From the September 3 peak to Thursday’s rate, gold was down Rs11,204 per tola.
The weakness extended to silver, with its price falling Rs171 per tola to Rs6,837 on Thursday.
