ISLAMABAD – Five armed men allegedly robbed the residence of Chinese nationals in Islamabad’s G-10/4 sector after holding them and their staff hostage for around one and a half hours, according to the complaint submitted to Ramna Police Station.
The incident reportedly took place at around 12:15 a.m. on September 13 at a house on Street 44 in Sector G-10/4.
According to the complainant, five men entered the property, with one of them wearing a police uniform. The suspects allegedly presented themselves as officials of government institutions.
The complaint stated that the suspects held the security guards, driver and translator at gunpoint and gathered them in a room. While some of the armed men kept the occupants under threat, others searched the house.
The suspects took Rs2.3 million belonging to Gao Tan, also known as Lady, and Rs5.7 million belonging to her friend Li Yichao, along with other documents and a DVR.
The suspects allegedly threatened to shoot anyone who resisted, before locking the occupants inside a room and fleeing with the cash, DVR and documents.
The complainant said the suspects could be identified if brought before them and requested their arrest, recovery of the stolen property and legal action.
Police have collected evidence from the scene and started an investigation into the robbery.
