LAHORE – Punjab is moving towards modernising its legal and regulatory framework through greater use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, with a focus on improving access to justice and strengthening the professional capacity of lawyers.
Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on AI and Special Initiatives Ali Dar held a meeting on Tuesday with a delegation of lawyers led by Barrister Karim Ullah Sraw, where the participants discussed legal reforms, professional development, regulatory matters and human rights issues.
During the meeting, Ali Dar shared views on potential of modern technology to make legal reforms more effective and help citizens access the justice system more easily. He said artificial intelligence could be utilised for legal research and data analysis, while also supporting efforts to enhance the professional capabilities of lawyers.
The adviser said technology would be extensively leveraged to bring Punjab’s regulatory system in line with modern requirements and emerging challenges.
He further stressed the importance of collaboration between legal professionals and technology experts, saying such cooperation could help develop modern, practical and effective solutions for the legal and regulatory sectors.
The meeting shows growing focus on combining legal expertise with technological innovation to improve professional development, regulatory efficiency and public access to justice across Punjab.
