Only 350 candidates were placed in the reappear category, giving the board an overall promotion rate of 99.26%.

The category-wise figures reveal very high promotion percentages among regular candidates. Among 18,929 regular female students, 18,865 successfully moved on to the second year. This produced a 99.66% promotion rate, with just 64 candidates required to reappear.
The regular male category included 25,128 candidates. Of these, 24,959 were promoted, resulting in a 99.32% promotion rate. A total of 169 students were placed in the reappear category.
Private candidates also recorded strong results. The promotion rate was 96.61% among private female students, while private male candidates achieved 95.93%.
Pre-Medical
The Pre-Medical stream recorded particularly strong results. Regular female students achieved a 99.65% promotion rate, while regular male students recorded a 99.33% rate.
Pre-Engineering
Pre-Engineering students also posted promotion rates close to 100%.
Regular female candidates recorded a 99.74% promotion rate, while regular male candidates achieved 99.68%.
These figures show that both Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering students recorded very high promotion levels in the 2026 Part-I examination.
What Happened to Students in UFM Cases?
The board has also disclosed information about examination discipline.
During and after the examinations, BISE Mardan’s discipline committee handled 333 Unfair Means (UFM) cases.
Chairman Prof. Jehan Zeb stressed the importance of maintaining an examination system based on merit, fairness, transparency, and measures against cheating.

Yes. Candidates who have received penalties in UFM cases have the right to appeal against the decision.
An appeal can be submitted to the Chairman of BISE Mardan within 15 days of the decision.
