NEW YORK – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement abolishing visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official/special passports.
Dar said the agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 2026 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
“Pleased to announce that on the sidelines of #UNGA2026, I signed today with my brother, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the ‘Agreement between Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of Diplomatic and Official/Special Passports,’” Dar said in a post on X.
He said the agreement is intended to facilitate high-level engagement and institutional exchanges between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

“This important step will further facilitate high-level engagement and institutional exchanges,” he said.
Dar added that the agreement would also contribute to advancing the “enduring and brotherly strategic partnership” between the two countries across areas of mutual interest.
The agreement represents a step toward facilitating official travel and strengthening institutional interaction between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Dar met with Permanent Observer of Palestine to the United Nations Ambassador Riyad Mansour at the UN Headquarters in New York.
DPM/FM reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people, including their inalienable right to self-determination and an independent, contiguous and sovereign Palestinian State.
He shared that Pakistan will continue to strongly raise the issue during UNGA and at all relevant forums, including in bilateral engagements on the sidelines, and advance international efforts for an immediate end to the suffering in Gaza and a just and lasting peace.
