Rwanda-Pakistan Forum drives New Momentum in Trade, Investment, and Business Ties

ISLAMABAD – Rwanda High Commission in Pakistan announced upcoming visit of Pakistani business delegation to Kigali for the Rwanda-Pakistan Investment Forum, scheduled to take place from 23–25 September 2026, marking a significant step towards expanding economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

Rwanda High Commissioner to Pakistan, HARERIMANA Fatou made announcement during a press conference which was also addressed by followed by remarks from Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Africa Economic Council (PAEC).

Pakistani delegation will comprise representatives from the country’s business and investment community. During their visit to Kigali, delegates will engage with Rwandan government institutions, business leaders, investors and private-sector representatives to explore new opportunities in trade, investment, joint ventures, technology, manufacturing and business partnerships.

A major milestone of the visit will be the signing of a Bilateral Trade Agreement between Rwanda and Pakistan, which is expected to provide an important institutional framework for strengthening commercial relations and creating greater opportunities for businesses in both countries.

Addressing the presser, High Commissioner Harerimana Fatou said the Investment Forum reflects a broader commitment to transforming Rwanda-Pakistan relations into a stronger and more dynamic economic partnership.

She mentioned opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, technology, manufacturing and business-to-business engagement, while encouraging Pakistani companies to view Rwanda not only as a market but also as a strategic destination for investment, production, joint ventures and regional expansion into the wider African market.

High Commissioner also highlighted the Bilateral Trade Agreement as an important milestone that can contribute to strengthening the institutional foundation for increased trade and investment between Rwanda and Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Africa Economic Council, described the Pakistan-Rwanda Investment Forum as an important initiative at a time when Africa, particularly East Africa and Rwanda, is emerging as a growing destination for global investment.

He highlighted Rwanda’s peace and stability, competitive operating environment, skilled workforce and investor-friendly policies, noting that these factors create promising avenues for Pakistani businesses seeking new markets, investment opportunities and international partnerships.

Ambassador Khan said the participation of a 15–16-member Pakistani delegation from PAEC would provide an opportunity to explore practical avenues for expanding trade and investment while also creating possibilities for employment and greater international opportunities for Pakistan’s skilled youth.

Kigali forum is therefore expected to serve as a platform for direct engagement between Pakistani and Rwandan businesses, investors and institutions, enabling participants to identify areas of mutual interest and develop concrete partnerships.

Rwanda High Commission expressed confidence that the visit will further strengthen business-to-business engagement and economic cooperation between Rwanda and Pakistan, while opening new avenues for investment, joint ventures and mutually beneficial partnerships.
