Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s flagship housing initiative, “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar,” has been shortlisted for the prestigious United Nations-Habitat Scroll of Honor Award.
The program has been selected among five housing initiatives from around the world for the annual UN-Habitat recognition, which honors initiatives making significant contributions to providing safe and adequate housing.
According to the Punjab government, the program was selected following a comprehensive and competitive review of housing projects being implemented across the world.
The UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour Award will be presented during the global World Habitat Day celebrations on October 5.
The award ceremony will be held next month in Muscat, Oman, where a series of seminars and workshops focusing on housing and urban development will also take place from October 6 to 8.
