ISLAMABAD – Another blow to Pakistanis as Diesel has become Rs6.41 more expensive per litre, with new price hovering at Rs. 415.83 per litre. Petrol has also gone up by Rs. 4.10 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs. 384.34 per litre.

Petrol Price In Pakistan Reaches Rs384 34 Per Litre After Another Jump

The latest increase is likely to be felt well beyond petrol stations. Higher fuel prices usually mean more expensive transportation, which can eventually push up the cost of food, goods and other everyday necessities. For families already dealing with rising living costs, another increase adds to the financial burden.

The latest hike is part of a wider rise in petrol prices that has taken place since Pakistan introduced a daily fuel-price revision system in July 2026.

The new mechanism was introduced around July 17–18, as international oil markets became increasingly unpredictable amid tensions in the Middle East. Instead of waiting for a weekly review, fuel prices can now be adjusted more frequently. OGRA bases the revisions largely on a seven-day rolling average of international Platts prices.

Before the new system came into effect, petrol was selling for around Rs. 310.71 per litre. The first revision under the daily system, effective around July 18, raised the price to Rs. 316.15 per litre. Prices did not move upward every day, however. Petrol briefly fell to around Rs. 315.80 per litre around July 20–21 before beginning a broader upward trend.

Is Pakistan bringing back 3-Day Weekend amid soaring Petrol Prices?

By September 15, 2026, the petrol price had reached approximately Rs. 380.24 per litre. This means the price has increased by roughly Rs. 64–69 per litre since the daily revision system was introduced.

Fuel prices have not increased continuously. There have been periods of both increases and reductions. However, the overall direction since July has been upward, largely reflecting changes in international oil prices. It is also worth remembering that petrol prices had reached an even higher level earlier this year. On April 3, petrol was priced at Rs. 458.41 per litre, following a sharp rise in international oil prices linked to conflict-related tensions.

That earlier peak came under the previous weekly pricing system, while the current figures reflect the period following the introduction of daily revisions.

Global Oil Prices

The latest market figures show WTI crude at $106.51, up $5.12, while Brent crude stood at $109.36, an increase of $3.68. Murban crude was trading at $118.09 after falling by $9.67.

Global Energy Market Latest Price Change
WTI Crude 106.51 +5.12
Brent Crude 109.36 +3.68
Murban Crude 118.09 -9.67
Natural Gas 2.911 +0.015

For Pakistan, movements in global oil markets can quickly become a domestic issue because the country depends heavily on imported petroleum. When international prices rise, the impact can eventually reach fuel stations, transport operators, businesses and ordinary consumers.
