Polling for the second phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections concluded on Sunday after voting was held across eight constituencies in the Muzaffarabad Division and 12 refugee seats for Kashmiris residing in Pakistan.
Voting began at 8:00am and ended as scheduled, except in LA-27 Muzaffarabad-I, where polling was postponed due to heavy rainfall and a landslide, according to the Election Commission spokesperson.
More than 400,000 registered voters in the 12 refugee constituencies cast their ballots during the second phase, marking another key milestone in the electoral process.
However, the elections unfolded against a backdrop of heightened tensions in Muzaffarabad, where authorities once again suspended internet services following protests by supporters of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee.
