Punjab Fully Alert To Handle Potential Earthquake Aftershocks

Residents of Karachi felt earthquake as people in many areas rush out of their homes and workplaces as tremors were felt across the city.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the earthquake struck at a depth of 10 kilometres, with its epicentre located nearly 50 kilometres south of Karachi in the Arabian Sea, off Pakistan’s coastline.

The tremors were reported in Korangi, Landhi, Malir, Gadap, Bhains Colony, and Shah Abdul Latif, where startled residents briefly abandoned buildings amid fears of stronger aftershocks.

Despite the panic, authorities confirmed that no casualties or damage to property had been reported. Officials continue to monitor the situation, while citizens have been urged to remain calm and follow safety guidelines in the event of any further seismic activity.
