Mother turns out to be prime suspect in three children murder case in Lahore

Lahore shopkeeper allegedly kills 14-year-old employee after brutal torture

LAHORE – In a shocking twist, the high-profile murder case involving an American national woman and her three children in Lahore has reached its conclusion, with the deceased mother herself identified as the prime suspect behind the killings.

DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza revealed these details during a press briefing, stating that the tragic incident in a private housing society within the Kahna area has been fully resolved.

According to the DIG Investigation, two additional suspects involved in facilitating the crime have been arrested, including an online chemical shop owner and a delivery rider.

Investigators disclosed that the American national woman was suffering from mental health issues and frequently searched for online suicide methods. She established contact with an online seller and paid 138,540 rupees via MoneyGram to acquire the lethal chemical.

The family, consisting of the mother, her husband, and their children, had traveled from the United States to Lahore and resided in a rented house in Valencia Town. The suspect had the chemical parcel delivered to her friend’s residence. On July 16, she dined with her friend at a local pizza shop and collected the parcel. The following day, on July 17, the woman mixed potassium cyanide into ice cream and fed it to her three children: 15-year-old Rehan, 11-year-old Arisha, and 9-year-old Arsal.

After administering the poisoned ice cream to her children, she consumed it herself.  DIG Investigation stated that the woman’s husband, Nasir, underwent comprehensive interrogation and a polygraphic test. All circumstantial evidence and forensic reports indicate that the suspect poisoned her children before committing suicide, and she had also attempted to feed the chemical-laced ice cream to her husband.

The investigations revealed that the woman, named Aleena, had been searching for suicide methods online since November, with related articles retrieved from her mobile phone, while her friend remained completely unaware of the parcel’s contents. Authorities noted that Aleena intended to wipe out her entire family.

The police stated that Aleena was suffering from depression and had a history of medical treatment, regularly taking antidepressant medications, and had initially attempted to have potassium cyanide delivered to the United States. The family was scheduled to travel to Sialkot the day after the incident.

The comprehensive investigation was conducted by Lahore Police, and due to the victims being US nationals, an FBI team also visited and met with the family to review the case.

The DIG stated that the suspects were apprehended using advanced professional police techniques and CCTV footage, and Lahore Police will prepare a strong challan to ensure strict punishment for the culprits.
