Security forces eliminated four terrorists backed by India and destroyed two vehicle-borne explosive devices during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated on Thursday that the operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants associated with the India-backed proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan in the area.
During the operation, troops intercepted two vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) being operated by the militants. Security forces swiftly engaged the suspects, destroying both explosives-laden vehicles and killing all four terrorists.
The ISPR said clearance operations remain underway to ensure the area is free of any remaining militants or security threats.
The military reaffirmed that counterterrorism efforts under the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign would continue in close coordination with law enforcement agencies to eliminate foreign-sponsored militancy and safeguard national security.
Pakistan has experienced a rise in militant attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since 2021 following the return of the Afghan Taliban to power in Afghanistan.
