Lahore Cantonment Area Sp Removed After Police Raid At Agps Residence

LAHORE – The local police have not yet released the findings of the ongoing inquiry, the sources said on Thursday.

The police officials said the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) has appointed two senior officers to conduct an inquiry into the incident. The inquiry team has already inspected the residence and will submit its findings to the CCPO upon completion of the investigation.

The action comes after a criminal case was registered against the station house officer (SHO) and 11 police officials for allegedly leading a police team to the Attorney General’s residence due to a misunderstanding.

Akhtar Nawaz, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Cantonment, has been removed from his post following the controversial police raid at the Lahore residence of Attorney General of Pakistan Mansoor Awan.

According to Irfan, the Attorney General’s driver, only household staff were present when the police arrived. He alleged that officers damaged flower pots outside the residence and removed the CCTV surveillance system before leaving.

He further claimed that Attorney General Mansoor Awan returned home after an official meeting, following which the police brought back the DVR after allegedly deleting the CCTV footage.
