Suicide Bomb Plot thwarted as Four militants eliminated in Waziristan Operation: ISPR

Pakistan Forces Eliminate 43 Terrorists In Major Operation Across Kp Balochistan Ispr

ISLAMABAD – A suicide bomber moved toward security check post in South Waziristan, but Pakistani troops reacted within moments, stopping the explosives-laden vehicle before it reached its target.

What could have become a deadly attack instead ended in a swift counterterrorism operation that killed four militants, including the bomber, while all security personnel emerged unharmed in latest assault by Khawarij.

ISPR said militants belonging to the India-backed Fitna al-Khawarij launched a coordinated attack on the security post, attempting to breach the installation under the cover of a suicide bombing.

A suicide bomber drove explosives-laden vehicle toward the check post. Alert troops intercepted the vehicle before it could reach the target, destroying it outside the security perimeter and preventing what could have been a devastating attack on security personnel.

The military said the suicide bomber was killed in the explosion, while the blast caused no damage to the check post or surrounding military infrastructure.

After failed suicide strike, security forces immediately launched clearance operation after three accompanying militants took refuge inside a nearby compound. Troops surrounded the hideout and eliminated all three attackers during an intense exchange of fire, completely neutralising the assault.

ISPR confirmed that no security personnel were injured during the operation. A search and sanitisation operation remains underway to ensure the area is free of any remaining militant presence.

The latest operation comes as Pakistan continues to battle worsening security situation in 2026, with KP and Balochistan remaining the epicentres of TTP and Baloch militant violence. Security forces remained the primary targets of terrorist attacks, although civilians have also suffered in repeated incidents across both provinces.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), with support of Afghan Taliban, remained most active militant organisation, carrying out suicide bombings, roadside improvised explosive device (IED) attacks, ambushes and coordinated assaults on military and police installations.

Indian backed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) also stepped up attacks on security personnel, government facilities and strategic infrastructure. Several recent assaults have involved carefully coordinated operations designed to inflict maximum casualties and disrupt state institutions.

Among the hardest-hit districts are North and South Waziristan, Tank, Bannu, Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Quetta, Mastung, Khuzdar and Kalat continue to witness frequent militant activity in Balochistan.
