ISLAMABAD – The number of militants killed during ongoing security operations under Operation Azm in Balochistan has risen to 13, the security sources said on Saturday.
The intelligence-based operation is continuing against militant groups in the province, with security forces carrying out targeted actions in several areas. Sources said a successful operation in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung dealt a significant blow to militants identified by authorities as Fitna al-Khawarij.
According to security officials, 13 militants have been killed so far during the operation. They added that several hideouts linked to Fitna al-Hindustan were destroyed during the raids.
Security forces also recovered a cache of weapons, explosives and materials used for manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Officials further said that multiple militants were injured during the operations, although no official casualty figure has been released.
Security sources reiterated that operations will continue until terrorism is eliminated from Balochistan and lasting peace and stability are restored in the province.
