KARACHI – As the summer break draws to a close, students and parents in Karachi are waiting for confirmation on whether schools will reopen as scheduled or if the holidays will be extended.
The Sindh government had announced summer vacations for public and private educational institutions across Karachi and other parts of the province from June 1 to July 31, 2026.
According to the notified academic calendar, schools in Karachi are expected to resume regular classes from August 1, marking the beginning of the 2026-27 academic session.
So far, the Sindh government has not issued any notification regarding an extension of the summer holidays. In the absence of any new announcement, educational institutions in Karachi are set to reopen on the planned date.
Officials have also not indicated any changes to the reopening schedule, leaving schools and families to prepare for the return to routine academic activities.
Last year, the province followed the announced vacation schedule, with schools reopening according to the official calendar without an extension of the summer break.
