TAMPA – The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it has successfully completed the 11th consecutive evening of strikes against Iran.
CENTCOM assets targeted Iranian military operations centers, maritime capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, and military logistics infrastructure to further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Over the past three months, Iran has attacked more than 30 commercial vessels transiting the international waterway vital for regional and global trade. The unwarranted attacks have endangered hundreds of innocent mariners and undermined freedom of navigation.
Despite Iranian aggression, the Strait of Hormuz remains open for commercial vessel transit. Since early May, CENTCOM forces have helped facilitate the transit of approximately 900 commercial vessels and 450 million barrels of crude oil.
On the other hand, the cost of the United States’ military campaign involving Iran has climbed to $37.5 billion, according to U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who briefed lawmakers on Tuesday while seeking additional funding for ongoing operations.
Speaking before the Senate appropriations committee, Hegseth said the total includes projected expenses through September 30. The Trump administration has also requested approximately $87 billion in additional funding from Congress to support the next phase of military operations and defense requirements.
The funding request comes as lawmakers debate continued military spending ahead of the U.S. midterm elections, with the conflict remaining a major political issue.
Meanwhile, Iran’s military claimed it had carried out the 21st wave of attacks, targeting the Al Doha Camp in Kuwait, one of the key U.S. military installations in the region.
According to Iran’s military public relations department, the operation involved drone strikes against what it described as U.S. weapons storage facilities and logistics equipment supporting the Army command center at the camp, located west of Kuwait City.
