Intermittent monsoon rains with scattered heavy to very heavy falls are likely in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday night and Wednesday.
Synoptic Situation
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea & Bay of Bengal are penetrating the upper parts of Pakistan and are likely to strengthen. A westerly wave is also likely to affect the upper and central parts of the country.

Under these conditions, intermittent rains are likely in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Nowshera, Charsadda, Karak, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Swabi, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Kurram, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Waziristan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan and Hangu on Tuesday night and Wednesday. Heavy to very heavy rainfall may also occur at scattered places during the period.
Impacts
Widespread rains may trigger landslides in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Buner, Mansehra and Galyat.
Heavy rains may generate flash flooding in local streams and nullahs and urban flooding in Peshawar. Windstorm, lightning & heavy rains may damage weak structures such as solar panels, electric poles, and billboards.

Daytime temperatures in Peshawar are expected to remain between 26°C and 28°C on Wednesday and Thursday.
