Anniqa Meraj has been selected as Miss World Pakistan 2026 and is set to make history as the country’s first representative at the Miss World competition.
The 24-year-old will participate in the 75th Anniversary Edition of the Miss World Festival in Vietnam, which will take place from August 9 to September 5, according to an announcement shared by Miss World on Instagram.
A graduate in Business and Economics with a focus on accounting and auditing, Meraj has outlined her ambitions beyond the pageant. She aims to become a State-Authorised Public Accountant while also working to promote children’s rights and girls’ education in Pakistan.
At a Lahore hotel, she received the title from Dr Shafaq Akhtar, Miss Pakistan Universal 2022, and Attaullah Gujjar, Mr Pakistan World.
Although Pakistan is preparing for its first appearance at Miss World, Pakistani contestants have previously represented the country at other major global pageants. Erica Robin and Roma Riaz, for instance, have competed at Miss Universe.
Organisers have described Meraj’s participation in Vietnam as a landmark moment for Pakistan’s presence on the Miss World platform.
