ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has departed for Shanghai, China, on a two-day official visit.
As Pakistan joins the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO) as a Founding Member, the Deputy Prime Minister will sign the agreement, participate in the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and engage with leaders to advance international AI cooperation and promote inclusive, equitable AI governance.
Earlier in a separate development, Pakistan and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization agreed to further strengthen cooperation in culture, heritage conservation, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi and SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev in Islamabad.
The minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the objectives and principles of the SCO.
