ISLAMABAD – Some relief for Pakistanis seeking jobs abroad, as the government launched the e-Protector system, allowing applicants to complete Protector registration online without visiting Protector Offices.
Introduced by Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE), the platform enables users to submit documents, provide required information, and pay fees digitally, making the emigration process faster, more transparent, and more convenient.
For thousands of Pakistanis, the journey to overseas employment has long been marked by lengthy paperwork, repeated visits to government offices, long queues, and additional travel expenses. With the rollout of the e-Protector system, those challenges are now set to become a thing of the past.
Using a phone, laptop, or desktop computer, applicants can now complete their Protector registration from the comfort of their homes. The online portal enables users to submit the required information, upload relevant documents, and pay the prescribed fee digitally. Once these steps are completed, there is no need to visit a Protector Office in person.
The government said the new platform has been developed in accordance with the Emigration Ordinance, 1979, and other relevant laws, ensuring that all legal requirements are fulfilled while delivering a modern, secure, and transparent digital service.
The reform is expected to bring benefits to overseas job seekers, particularly those living in remote and rural areas who previously had to travel long distances to complete mandatory registration. By moving the process online, applicants will save valuable time, reduce travel costs, and enjoy a smoother experience before beginning their overseas careers.
Officials believe e-Protector system will also strengthen transparency, improve efficiency, and enhance oversight across Pakistan’s emigration framework, making the overall registration process quicker and more reliable.
Calling the initiative a landmark step in the country’s digital transformation, the government expects the platform to benefit hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis seeking overseas employment each year. The launch of e-Protector reflects Pakistan’s growing commitment to modernizing public services and creating easier pathways for citizens pursuing better opportunities abroad.
