Iran has reaffirmed its commitment to diplomacy, saying it has always approached negotiations with caution and sincerity while prioritising the interests of its people.
Speaking to reporters in Tehran, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said Iran has consistently honoured agreements once mutual understandings were reached, stressing that Tehran has acted in good faith and fulfilled its obligations.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has never been the first party to violate its commitments,” he said.
Baghaei warned, however, that Iran would no longer consider itself bound by the memorandum of understanding signed with the United States if Washington failed to meet its own commitments, including those related to ending the conflict.
Baghaei added that whenever the other side had failed to fulfil its obligations, Iran had responded by suspending its own commitments, saying the country would continue to follow the same approach in the future.
