KARACHI – Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) on Friday announced the schedule for online registration for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026, with registrations set to commence on June 22.
The council said that the MDCAT 2026 will be conducted on August 16 at 10:00am for candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS programmes across Pakistan.
PMDC said the deadline for online registration has been fixed at July 8, while candidates will be able to submit late registrations until July 13 upon payment of an additional fee.
The registration fee for candidates appearing in Pakistan has been set at Rs9,000, whereas the late registration fee will be Rs13,000. The fee will be non-refundable.
The entrance test will comprise 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and will carry no negative marking. The paper will include 81 questions from Biology, 45 from Chemistry, 36 from Physics, and nine questions each from English and Logical Reasoning.
Examination centres will be established in major cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta. Candidates will only be allowed to choose examination centres within their respective province or domicile.
PMDC has also established an international MDCAT examination centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to facilitate overseas Pakistani students.
The MDCAT will be conducted under the supervision of PMDC and is mandatory for admission to medical and dental colleges offering MBBS and BDS programmes.
