RAWALPINDI – The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi issued a traffic advisory on Saturday, updating commuters about road closures and traffic conditions across the city due to a match between Pakistan and Australia and routine traffic flow.
According to the advisory, City Traffic Police Rawalpindi said Stadium Road has been closed for traffic from the Allama Iqbal Park turn to 9th Avenue because of the ongoing cricket match. The closure will remain in place during the event.
The service road from 6th Road Chowk towards Faizabad has also been closed until the conclusion of the match. However, authorities confirmed that the 6th Road Flyover remains open for vehicles heading towards Faizabad to help manage traffic flow.
Meanwhile, traffic on major arteries including Murree Road, Mall Road, Peshawar Road, Airport Road, Tipu Road, and Rawal Road is moving normally, with no reported disruptions.
In the cantonment and Saddar areas, traffic is also operating as usual on Metro Station, Haider Road, and Kashmir Road. Similarly, Civil Lines areas including Kutchery Chowk (Maraka-e-Haq Square) and adjoining roads are witnessing routine traffic flow.
Authorities advised commuters to use alternative routes where necessary and expect possible congestion near the stadium area until the completion of the cricket match.
