ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced that phase two of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has officially begun.
Speaking during a Senate session, Minister Dar described CPEC as the flagship project of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and reaffirmed Pakistan’s full commitment to the One-China policy. He also noted that China consistently supports Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Minister Dar added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit China from May 23 to 26.
During the visit, the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China will be celebrated, and the Prime Minister will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
