The latest surge comes just a day after fluctuations in the market. On Saturday, gold had stood at Rs476,262 per tola, after experiencing a decline of Rs600 during intraday trading amid volatility in precious metal prices.
The global gold market also played a key role in Monday’s increase. International gold prices rose by $9 per ounce, reaching $4,548, including a $20 premium, reinforcing the bullish trend seen worldwide.
Analysts link the continued rise to global economic uncertainty and shifting investor demand, which continues to drive gold as a preferred safe-haven asset.
Meanwhile, silver prices also moved upward in the local market. The rate increased by Rs26 per tola, reaching Rs8,099, adding further momentum to the broader precious metals rally.
