LAHORE – The Lahore Traffic Police have imposed a complete ban on the entry of loader rickshaws and motorcycle rickshaws on Canal Road, with additional personnel deployed to ensure strict enforcement.
CTO Lahore, Syed Abdur Rahim Shirazi, explained that loader rickshaws often carry heavy loads in an unsafe manner, posing severe accident risks.
He added that motorcycle rickshaws contribute to chaotic traffic and slow movement, severely affecting the flow of vehicles on the busy thoroughfare.
The CTO also ordered strict action against auto rickshaws carrying extra passengers in violation of traffic regulations.
Traffic police teams have been stationed at key points, including Dharampura, Mughalpura, and Thokar Niaz Baig, to ensure the ban is effectively enforced.
Authorities warned that officers found negligent in implementing the crackdown could face departmental action.
