TEHRAN – Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said on Tuesday that events in Hormuz made clear that there’s no military solution to a political crisis.
“As talks are making progress with Pakistan’s gracious effort, the U.S. should be wary of being dragged back into quagmire by ill-wishers. So should the UAE,” he wrote on social media platform X.
Project Freedom is Project Deadlock, he lashed out the US President Donald Trump who announced the project for safely evacuation of ships from the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier, Iranian state media reported that five people were killed after the US military targeted civilian vessels in the Hormuz.
A military official told the Tasnim news agency that it was found in the investigation that the US forces attacked two small cargo boats carrying civilians that were moving from Khasab on the coast of Oman towards the Iranian coast.
Trump Threatens Iran
US President Donald Trump threatened that Iran will be “blown off the face of the Earth” if they attack US ship carrying out “Project Freedom” in the Strait of Hormuz.
“We have more weapons and ammunition at a much higher grade than we had before,” Trump tells Fox News’ Trey Yingst.
“We have the best equipment. We have stuff all over the world. We have these bases all over the world. They’re all stocked up with equipment. We can use all of that stuff, and we will, if we need it.”
A day earlier, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday said its air defence systems actively responded to incoming missiles and drones allegedly launched from Iran, as regional tensions escalated.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Defence said its forces had engaged and intercepted ballistic and cruise missiles, along with unmanned aerial vehicles. It was later confirmed that three missiles were successfully shot down, while another fell into the sea.
Iran, however, denied any intention of targeting the UAE. Iranian state television, quoting a senior military official, reported that Tehran had “no plans” to attack the Gulf nation, despite the UAE’s claims of fresh attacks.
