ISLAMABAD – A sixteen-member Pakistani delegation is set to join SelectUSA Investment Summit 2026 in Maryland to explore US market opportunities and attract international partnerships. As global investors gather at the high-profile event, the delegation seeks to expand business links and strengthen economic ties between Pakistan and the US.
A major push to deepen global business ties is underway as the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2026 kicks off from May 3–6 in National Harbor, Maryland, one of the most high-profile platforms in the United States for attracting foreign investment and sealing international business deals.
The summit drawn thousands of participants from around the world, including investors, companies, economic development organizations, and industry leaders, all gathered with a shared goal: turning opportunities into real investment partnerships across the US economy. This year’s edition is expected to host around 6,000 attendees, including nearly 3,000 investors representing more than 100 countries.
Among the notable participants is a 16-member delegation of Pakistani investors and entrepreneurs, joining the event to actively explore expansion opportunities in the United States. Their presence highlights a growing trend among Pakistani businesses that are increasingly looking beyond domestic markets in search of global capital, strategic partnerships, and new growth pathways, especially amid ongoing economic pressures at home.
US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker welcomed the delegation’s participation, stressing strength of economic ties between the two countries. She said she looks forward to supporting Pakistani investors in building a stronger presence in the US market, adding that such cooperation helps drive innovation, create jobs, and promote long-term prosperity for both nations.
Organized by US Department of Commerce, SelectUSA Investment Summit continues to serve as a key gateway for foreign investors seeking access to the American market and its vast business ecosystem.
United States and Pakistan already share a substantial economic relationship rooted in trade, services, and investment. The US remains Pakistan’s largest export destination, with total bilateral trade in goods and services exceeding $10 billion in 2024. In 2025, goods trade alone reached around $8.7 billion, including approximately $5.4 billion in exports from Pakistan, largely driven by textiles.
Pakistan generally maintains a trade surplus with the United States, while the US plays a vital role in providing services, technology partnerships, and investment flows, making this engagement at the summit another important step toward strengthening economic cooperation between Islamabad and Washington.
