Educating less fortunate children, a service to humanity, best investment: NPC chairman
Taleem Network Pakistan (TNP), a flagship initiative of the Nazriya Pakistan Council (NPC), has taken a significant step towards bringing out-of-school and underprivileged children back into the formal education system by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ghausia Mehria School System (GMSS) and to join hands for provision of quality education and essential educational facilities at the two schools set up by the TNP under its project Mera Apna School.
These schools are imparting education to the children who have either dropped out of school or they had never been to one for formal learning.
The collaboration aims to address educational deprivation through structured academic programmes, skill development, and recognized certification pathways. Chairperson of the TNP, Senator Razina Alam Khan and Director of the GMSS Dr Zill-e-Huma signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
JICA’s representative Mr Bilal Aziz also signed the document as JICA is also contributing in terms of providing books and other facilities for the underprivileged kids of the TNP schools. Currently, there are two non-formal schools being run by the TNP and according to Sen Razina Alam, collaboration with GMSS would boost the efforts to bring as many out-of-school children as possible to education.
Presiding over the MoU signing ceremony, Chairman NPC, Mian Muhammad Javed, described educating helpless and underprivileged children as a lasting and sustainable form of charity, often referred to as ‘Sadaqah Jariyah.’
He said that investing in education of marginalized children not only transformed individual lives but also contributed to long-term social development. He paid tribute to the educational services rendered by Dr. Zill-e-Huma, Head of the Ghausia Mehria School System, and her late father, acknowledging their dedication to serving disadvantaged segments of society.
