Pm Shehbaz World Leaders Join Donald Trumps Gaza Peace Initiative

ISLAMABAD – US President Donald Trump unveiled his new “Board of Peace,” aimed at securing lasting ceasefire in Gaza.

US President Donald Trump unveiled his ambitious new “Board of Peace,” aiming to broker lasting ceasefire in Gaza, and potentially reshape global conflict resolution.

The gathering included Donald Trump allies like Hungary’s Viktor Orban and Argentina’s Javier Milei, as well as officials from Bahrain, Morocco, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UAE, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia. Pakistan had accepted Trump’s invitation to join, highlighting its strategic role in the new initiative.

While initially focused on Gaza following the Hamas-Israel war, the board’s charter envisions a much broader role in mediating international conflicts, sparking speculation it could rival the United Nations. Trump, however, insisted the organization would operate “in conjunction” with the UN, not against it. Controversy

Several key US allies snubbed the event, with UK and France declining to attend. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who faces an ICC arrest warrant over Gaza, said he would join but was absent from the signing. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stressed that the board’s priority was cementing a lasting Gaza peace deal, while Trump warned Hamas that disarmament under the next phase of the ceasefire would be mandatory, or “the end of them.”

The launch comes amid Trump’s lingering frustration at not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, despite his controversial claims of brokering peace in eight conflicts worldwide, adding a personal edge to his latest global initiative.

Gaza Peace Initiative

At address at Board of Peace signing, US President Trump painted picture of sweeping international triumphs while making promises and claims that have drawn scrutiny.

He declared, “We are going to be very successful in Gaza,” pledging to demilitarize region and “beautifully rebuild” it. POTUS also claimed, without evidence, that US maintained Gaza ceasefire, delivered record humanitarian aid, and that Palestinians were no longer starving, despite ongoing Israeli attacks and persistent restrictions on aid deliveries.

Trump boasted that the world is now “richer, safer, and much more peaceful” than before his second term, ticking off list of global conflicts he claims to have resolved. Turning his attention to Lebanon, he warned that “we have to do something about” Hezbollah.

Trump returned to his favorite refrain, claiming that “no administration in history has achieved such a sweeping turnaround in 12 months,” and celebrated what he described as a booming U.S. economy.
