LAHORE – Following the “Health for All” policy of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Lahore General Hospital (LGH) provided medical facilities to a total of 2,324,166 patients in its Emergency and Outdoor departments without any slip fee during the year 2025.
Sharing the annual performance report, Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal revealed that the hospital witnessed a significant increase of 365,057 patients as compared to the year 2024, attributing this success to the policy guidance of Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique and Secretary Specialized Healthcare Azmat Mehmood Khan, while also praising Dr. Anum Batool for maintaining transparent records of referred patients.
MS LGH Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain added that with the cooperation of philanthropists, quality meals are provided three times a day to patients and their attendants to ease the financial burden on those coming from far-flung areas. According to the report, 114,382 surgeries were performed (an increase of 15,000), 84,316 patients were admitted (up by 8,456), and 5,755 patients were treated at the Breast Clinic. Prof. Farooq Afzal reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the provision of modern healthcare facilities in the future.
