RAWALPINDI – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir warned of Pakistan’s Multi-Domain Security Threats in high-profile engagement at the ongoing National Security and War Course.
Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan sounded stark warning about nation’s security landscape, calling it “complex, evolving, and multi-layered.” The top military official met with a panel of civil and military experts, receiving detailed briefings on pressing security challenges and the strategies needed to confront them.
Field Marshal Munir sheds light at threats facing Pakistan today, spanning conventional and sub-conventional warfare, intelligence operations, cyber and information attacks, military, economic pressures, and more. He stressed that addressing these threats requires a coordinated, multi-domain response and constant adaptation across all instruments of national power.
“Future Leaders Must Navigate Complex Threats With Intellectual Rigor,” the Field Marshal emphasized, warning that adversaries are increasingly relying on indirect, ambiguous tactics—using proxies to exploit internal divisions rather than confronting Pakistan directly. He urged that emerging leaders be trained to anticipate these sophisticated, cognitive threats, highlighting the importance of clear thinking, decision-making under uncertainty, and intellectual resilience in today’s fragmented and contested security environment.
Praising the National Defence University (NDU) as a premier institution, Field Marshal Munir underscored its vital role in shaping strategic thinkers capable of translating rigorous academic training into actionable policies and operational success. He also highlighted professional military education as essential for building institutional strength, fostering indigenous capabilities, and ensuring long-term national resilience.
He lauded the panel for their sharp insights and encouraged participants to remain vigilant, adaptive, and committed to integrity, discipline, and selfless service. The Field Marshal’s visit, marked by a warm reception from the President of NDU, signifies a renewed focus on strengthening Pakistan’s strategic leadership and national security framework.
