KARACHI – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has declared December 8 (Monday) as the hottest day of the current winter season in Karachi.
According to the department, the city’s temperature reached an average of 31.6°C, which is above the usual winter temperature.
The PMD also stated that today’s weather is expected to remain dryduring the day, with a cooler evening. The maximum temperature for today is forecasted to reach 30°C.
As of now, humidity levels in the air are at 46%, with northeast winds blowing at a speed of 3 km/h.
Furthermore, the PMD has predicted that cold weather in Karachi is expected to intensify from the middle of December.
Meanwhile, PMD has forecasted cold and dry weather for most parts of the country, including Islamabad.
The department predicts cold conditions for Murree and Galyat, while fog is expected to persist in cities like Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Multan, Khaniwal, Leiah, Kot Addu, Gujrat, Jhelum, and Sahiwal.
The PMD also predicted rainfall across the country from 18th to 20th December, with possible smog in areas such as Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Additionally, the PMD stated that Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir are expected to experience cold and dry weather over the next few days.
