Farooq thanks all stakeholders for support in containing epidemic in AJK

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has expressed profound gratitude to the entire political and religious leadership of the State for extending support to government to contain COVID-19 in the liberated territory.
He was addressing the session of AJK Legislative Assembly held here on Friday.
The Prime Minister said due to Allah Almighty’s mercy and government’s timely steps, the situation of COVID-19 is under control in the state. He said all steps were taken after thorough consultation, which sets a precedent for the whole country.
Raja Farooq Haider Khan said issues being faced by the AJK citizen returning from foreign countries had been taken up with the federal government.
He told that in first phase, payment of the compensation to the rikshaw, Suzuki and other public transport drivers and conductors would start from today (Saturday). ‘Lists of affectees in other sectors were also at the final stage of their completion’, he added.
He further informed that a policy is being devised to allocate the shopping time separately for men and women to minimize the crowd in the markets. ‘Under this, men would be able to shop in markets from 08 to 12 similarly women would be free to shop from 12 to 04pm’, the premier disclosed.
Lauding the ullema and administration of the mosques, Raja Farooq Haider Khan informed that complete implementation on SOPs being ensured in the state.
Referring to the situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir, Prime Minister appealed international community to take serious and immediate notice of the Indian forces aggression against the innocent Kashmiris.
