A video of Asma Hadeed, a PTI MNA, has been circulating in which she quotes verses from the Holy Quran and sayings of the Last Prophet (PBUH) to argue that our Prophet had entered into a peace pact with the Jews.
Through her references, she seems to suggest that the Prophet’s example encourages peace and cooperation with the Jews, and that we should follow that example in our time.
I am not supposed to criticize her stance, as she is responsible for her speech in the National Assembly. Whether it is her personal opinion or the official stance of her party is not my concern. Whether she is indirectly supporting the recognition of Israel or merely advocating friendship between Jews and Muslims, she has every right to express her opinion.
To set the record straight, I humbly comment that Israel can only be recognized if it first recognizes Palestine in accordance with the UN resolutions on the establishment of two independent states. The Last Prophet (PBUH) made a peace treaty consisting of approximately 63 points with the Jews, which is known as the Medina Truce. However, the Jews breached that truce and supported the idolaters of Mecca against the Muslims of Medina. Consequently, the Prophet attacked the fort of the Jews in Khayber and defeated them. Many Jews were killed for breaching the peace agreement.
Of course, all Arabs are believers in Prophet Abraham, and we pay tribute to all the prophets of Bani Israel. However, the Holy Quran condemns the Jews for their evil deeds and for their enmity against Islam. Muslims are not against the Jews as a people, but the Jews have historically been the worst enemies of Muslims.
As far as the conflict between Israel and Palestine is concerned, Israel is the aggressor. The intentions of Israeli racial and religious leaders are to establish Greater Israel. For that plan, leaders like Benjamin Netanyahu are committing genocide in Gaza and intend to wipe out all Muslims. Israel is the aggressor and the offender. It is not the Palestinians who are perpetrating atrocities on Israel; rather, it is the Israelis who are uncouth and merciless, shooting children and women at random.
Israel is the violator of UN resolutions and the Oslo Accord. Under such circumstances, to have a soft corner for the Zionists of Israel is tantamount to ignoring and distorting Islamic precepts and historical facts. In my opinion, Israel needs to be harnessed and pressured to act upon UN resolutions.
