International Sachal Conference Shafqat calls for spreading Sachal’s message to promote love, peace in society

We can promote peace, love and brotherhood in Pakistan through the thoughts and messages of Sufi poets. There is a need to spread the message of Sufis and bring the soft image of Pakistan before the world.
These views were expressed by Shafqat Mahmood, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training and National Heritage and Culture in the International Sachal Conference held on the occasion of the 199th Anniversary Sufi Poet Sachal Sarmat organized by the Pakistan Academy of Letters.
International Sachal Conference was presided over by eminent intellectual and cultural expert Mehtab Akbar Ras-hdi.
Wajiha Akram Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and Inamullah Khan, Secretary of National Heritage and Culture also attended the conference.
Dr. Yousuf khushk, Chairman PAL presented an introductory note. The conference started with Sachal’s Kalaml by Faqir Ayaz Mallah and his companion from the shrine of Sachal Sarmast. Scholars of Sachal from across the country and around the world presented articles via video link. Dr. Hakim Ali Bardo and Dr. Sadia Tahir Moderated the seminar.
Shafqat Mahmood said that Sachal spread the message of religious tolerance through his poetry and it needs tolerance in these days of the epidemic has hardly ever before. Sufis poets spiritual awakening through their poetry in the Indus Valley and spread awareness throughout the region, Sachal Sarmast’s name is prominent in Sindh after Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
