LESCO team raids meter reverser’s home

Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) SE (Central Circle) M Naeem, on the directions of LESCO Chief Mujahid Pervez Chattha, continued search operations against power pilferers.
In this regard, Allama Iqbal Town XEN Mr Sana along with DDT Central and Awan Town SDO conducted search operations in Awan Town and its neighbouring areas.
On a tip off, they along with local police raided at the house of a meter reverser Ali who managed to escape from the scene while the raiding party recovered laptops, meter reversing devices and different kinds of shunts.
The police took his father into custody. The XEN also got registered a case against Ali for facilitating power pilferers with respective police station.
LESCO spokesman said that the LESCO surveillance teams on the directives of Chief Executive Officer Mujahid Pervez had started an active drive against power stealers.
In addition, he said that LESCO also focused on charging detection bills to electricity pilferers and recovery of dues from the dead defaulters of the company.
The company was fully committed for complete elimination of the menace of electricity theft, he resolved.
