Dr. Christian Turner,the British High Commissioner called on Senator Shibli Faraz, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting here,Monday. Senator Shibli Faraz and Dr. Christian Turner in their meeting emphasized efforts to augment existing collaboration between the two countries in the field of information and media.
They also had detailed exchange of views on greater efforts at creating mass awareness about the COVID-19 pandemic to effect behavioral change that could help combat the fatal disease.
he High Commissioner said that employing effective communication strategy is a pre-requisite for behavioral change which can greatly help combat the scourge of Covid19.
Expressing his agreement to the notion, the Information Minister said that it would be discussed and analysed, and views shared with the British High Commission . He said corona virus was a global challenge which needed global response. The Information Minister said that public messaging campaigns have been undertaken through all forms of media to create mass awareness about adopting the required preventive measures. The British High Commissioner briefed the minister in regards to the corona virus situation in the United Kingdom.
